How to increase the height of my Rottweiler: Is There Anything I Can Do?

How to increase the height of my Rottweiler: Is There Anything I Can Do?

Fortunately there is more than simply “eat well and sleep more”.

According to research, 60-80% height Rottweiler inherits from parents, while 20% is due to external factors. According to our experience, Rottweilers that are engaged in regular physical activity at an early age of life, reach an optimal height, within the upper standard of the breed. Our most powerful ally in this is nature – the growth process of our Rottweilers takes place through the natural stimulation of growth hormones.

GROWTH HORMONE

In order to understand what actions we can take that can maximize Rottweiler’s ability to grow taller, we need to know how growth hormone works.

Growth hormone is an important hormone in dog’s body and affects growth, primarily of long bones. Its main role is to promote growth and development during the dog’s adolescence (5-12 months). This hormone affects bone growth, primarily in length, during puberty. The long bones lengthen, and the ends of the bones move away from each other. At the same time, the cartilage cells are activated, the division and transformation of which creates bone cells and the bone lengthens.

After Rottweiler finished growing, growth hormone no longer increases height, but dog’s body still needs it to maintain normal body structure. Secretion of growth hormone stops after growth is complete, and in adulthood it plays a significant but less important role in helping to build and maintain muscle mass. Therefore, the age of the Rottweiler plays a decisive role in this process.

To conclude, physical activity aimed at increasing the growth of the dog works exclusively at the age when the dog is growing naturally.

Physical activity is a natural growth hormone stimulator. During physical activity, there is a natural increase in the concentration of growth hormone, mostly during alternating application of intense training with short rest intervals.

WHAT ACTION WE CAN TAKE

It is said that regular exercise is necessary for height growth. This can include running, swimming or brisk walking. Through these activities, the long bones of the legs will lengthen and improve posture. Running lengthens the bones of the legs and stimulates the production of growth hormones, which leads to a natural increase in height. We prefer this practice.

Running with a dog implies the company of a human, who controls the pace of training and directs the dog. However, the fact is that a Rottweiler, although very young, is generally more durable than a human. This makes it difficult for most to run at a pace that is optimal for a dog. Experts claim that cycling is an ideal substitute for running today. The bike is suitable for dog owners who for some reason are not able to run at the speed necessary for the development of their pet. By riding a bicycle, the weight is transferred to the seat, so you are able to move at a speed that is optimal for the dog.

OUR PROGRAM

– We use bicycles (we love running, but as breeders, we have more dogs in the program);

– Rottweilers aged 5 months are gradually introduced to exercise, by running at a light trot, 3-6 km, every other day for the first 2 weeks;

– For the next 2 weeks, the pace is accelerated and the dogs run at a trot, 5-6 km, every two days

– When the dog, after 4 weeks, has acquired a routine in running, the pace is adjusted to the current strength of the dog and its desire to run, so it can vary from trot to gallop, 5-6 km every day

– Breaks are mandatory halfway through the route, and then the dog can walk freely and explore the surroundings, for a minimum of 15 minutes

Note: the air temperature must be optimal, which means that during warm days the exercise is applied exclusively in the early morning and late evening hours. Water is mandatory during the break.

CONCLUSION

An external factor in the form of natural stimulation of the growth hormone by physical activity significantly affects the growth of the Rottweiler’s height, but only during the period when it grows naturally. After that, the growth hormone has no role in the dog’s height and physical activity will not affect the growth, but only the musculature.

Our program is based exclusively on natural stimuli, which correspond to the animal. We do not use machines adapted for running dogs and similar devices, because we are completely committed to the relationship between man and dog, while respecting the will and instincts of the animal. We can feel the dog’s will only if we ourselves are engaged in physical activity activity simultaneously with the dog.
